Pump Services

Water Pumps

Water well pumps are required to get the water from your well into your home or building. There are two common types of water pumps- jet and submersible. The technology of submersible pumps make them very desirable to use for wells. The pump is placed inside the casing. Wires are secured from the pump and run underground to the power source and water tank. The water line is also connected from the well to the house. An excavator is utilized to dig a trench from the well to your home. The soil will be mounded up over the trench, and it will settle over several months. If the soil is not mounded, the soil will sink into the ground and not be flush with the rest of the yard. Once the soil is settled, you can sow grass seed.

The Process: Drilling the well, Placing the pump in the casing, Trenching the electrical/water line into the home and installing the plumbing/electrical lines to the water tank.

Submersible Pumps

Submersible pumps are the most commonly used pumps. The pump is installed into the well casing. The electrical wires and water line attach to the top of the pump. The pump intakes the water allows it to flow through the water line to the water pressure tank. We only install top of the line well pumps. These pumps are made to last many years. The company offers a 5 year warranty to back up their product.

Replace

Jet Pumps

If you have a jet pump, we can replace those, too! Jet pumps were commonly used years ago before submersible pumps were developed. The differences lie in the placement of the pump. Jet pumps are separate from the well, typically next to the water tank.

What to do if your well pump is stuck?

Pulling a well pump is not always as easy as it seems. Depending on the size of the well casing, the pump may get stuck. Pumps are not always easy to pull out, especially if you’re not trained on how to properly do it. Depending on the situation, the well may be savable by digging around the casing, cutting it off below the stuck pump and place new casing with an adapter. If this is done, you are required to apply for a Private Water Systems Permit. There is an example below to show you what option to select.

By evaluating other factors, it may be advised to drill a new well. This informative discussion will be had with the home owner. Some factors that may defer to that outcome are: depth that the pump is stuck, age of the well. water quality of the well and cost differences.

Filling out the Application for a Well Alteration

If the well casing and well is manipulated, you are going to check the Alteration box as show below. Fill out the rest of the application and send in to your local health department. Fees are different for each county.
